Hog Roast Tetbury Caters A Clay Pigeon Shooting Event!

Some events just make sense from start to finish. And the client appreciation day Hog Roast Tetbury catered for on the 25th of May was exactly that kind of day.

The setup? An estate, a group of clients, clay pigeon shooting to kick things off and a hog roast waiting at the finish line. Honestly, if someone handed you that itinerary you’d say yes immediately and ask questions later.

By the time the shooting wrapped up, everyone had worked up a proper appetite – the kind that makes food taste even better than it already is. Which, given what was on offer, was saying something.

Our slow-roasted hog had been doing its thing for hours by that point. That’s the thing about a hog roast that’s hard to replicate – you can’t rush it and you can’t fake it. Time is the main ingredient, and when you give it enough, the result is meat that’s tender all the way through with crackling that’s gone properly golden and crispy on the outside. Guests loaded it into soft buns or wraps with stuffing and applesauce and got stuck in, which is exactly how it should be eaten – no fuss, just good food in your hands.

Hog Roast DEVON

Alongside the hog Hog Roast Tetbury had prepared mixed salad and a gourmet coleslaw that held its own rather than just being a token side dish. And for the veggie and vegan guests – because they deserve better than a sad plate of leaves – grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs and BBQ pulled jackfruit buns. That jackfruit, by the way, is one of those things that surprises people every time. Deceptively meaty, properly flavoured, the kind of option that meat-eaters end up eyeing up as well.

Everyone left fed, happy and – we’re guessing – with slightly better aim than when they arrived.

Summer events like this one are what we live for, and the diary is starting to look very full. If you’ve got something in the works and you want a catering team that actually shows up and delivers – get in touch with Hog Roast Tetbury sooner rather than later.
