Ah, the humble BBQ – a cornerstone of British summer that somehow manages to bring people together no matter how unpredictable the weather gets. It’s a tradition that’s been embedded in our summers since the 50s and 60s, cemented further when National BBQ Week arrived in the 90s and gave the whole thing an official stamp of approval.
We love it. We really do. But we also think it can be done considerably better, which is why Hog Roast Par has put our own spin on it, turning a classic favourite into something a little more generous, a little more flavour-packed, and a lot less “throwing a few burgers on the grill and hoping for the best”.
Because here’s the thing: a BBQ is only as good as the food coming off the grill. Soggy buns, mystery meat of questionable origin and that one sausage that somehow manages to be burnt on the outside and raw in the middle – none of that has to be your summer experience. Not when there’s another option.
Hog Roast Par was recently brought in to cater a summer BBQ party for 120 guests, and the difference between what we served and your average garden grill situation was, frankly, significant. Handmade 100% British beef burgers, gourmet sausages, Thai chicken kebabs and meaty marinated spareribs all came off the grill properly – cooked through, full of flavour, served in soft buns with optional fried onions and melting cheese that took each combination up another level. Two carefully considered meat-free options sat alongside with just as much thought behind them, because good catering covers the entire guest list, not just the majority.

The sides did what great sides always do – made everything feel more complete. Two fresh, colourful salads, a piping hot potato dish and a lineup of sauces and seasonings that let guests put their own stamp on every plate.
Meanwhile, the client did something a typical BBQ host almost never gets to do: actually enjoyed their own party. No hovering over the grill, no internal panic about quantities, no sneaking off to check if anything had gone wrong. Just a host, their guests and a long, relaxed afternoon of really good food.
That’s the Hog Roast Par difference. Fancy experiencing it yourself? Get in touch before the diary fills up.
