It may be far too chilly at this time of year to consider having an outdoor wedding reception, but the latest happy couple we catered for still wanted a taste of the great outdoors and to have their reception in a venue that made the most of the dramatic countryside views in their local area. Mike and Gail had always loved going out for windy walks with their two dogs (who were also guests of honour at the wedding!) and wanted to enjoy their wedding meal overlooking the familiar hills that they knew and loved. They found their ideal venue in a converted barn with floor to ceiling windows making the most of the scenery but the venue didn’t come with catering options included so they had to get their thinking caps on and find a catering company capable of cooking at the venue and who could give them the quality of food they wanted for their special day. Being keen gardeners and big fans of local produce, they also wanted the food to celebrate this, so they were immensely pleased when they discovered that Hog Roast Clyst St Mary ticked all of their boxes!
The great thing about Hog Roast Clyst St Mary’s flexible catering style is that we can cook just as successfully in indoor venues, which means people can enjoy our fabulous hog roast feasts all year round, whatever the weather!
Mike and Gail wanted the full works for their big day, including a canape welcome reception and a more formal 3 course meal with table service, as well as asking us to dress and serve their wedding cake. The couple loved how we were able to make everything from scratch at the venue on the day using only the finest ethically reared meat and locally sourced ingredients and whilst they and their 50 guests sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the views, we were hard at work making sure every detail was perfect for their wedding meal!
The wedding party couldn’t get enough of our delicious pork served with all the trimmings, and the rest of the menu went down just as well with everyone! Mike and Gail were delighted with Hog Roast Clyst St Mary’s food, service and adaptability and they told us that they couldn’t have picked a better catering option for their indoor countryside wedding reception!
