Babies are known for bringing lots of joy to the whole family, which is why few things in life are more exciting than the pending arrival of a new family member! But when you’re so excited, 9 months can feel like an eternity of waiting, can’t it?
That’s partly why celebrating each pregnancy milestone with a party has become so popular. Not only do these events get everyone involved in the pregnancy journey, but it gives parents-to-be and their families something to look forward to whilst waiting for the little one(s) to make an appearance!
As caterers, Hog Roast Kingsteignton has experienced a huge increase in pregnancy-related parties over the last few years, which has been wonderful for us. These days, pregnancy announcements, gender reveals, and baby showers are events we cover on a regular basis.
Just last week, our team had lots of fun helping Anna and Connor with their gender reveal party for their twins. The couple is at the halfway mark of their journey into parenthood, and at their last scan, they asked the technician to write down the gender of their babies and put it in a sealed envelope. The envelope was then given to a family member, who was tasked with filling the gender reveal balloon with pink or blue confetti.
Our catering managers, Adam and Stacey were so happy that Anna and Connor had decided to include us in this special event, and on the day of the party, they worked tirelessly to rustle up a scrumptious Gourmet BBQ spread for the clients and their 30 guests.
The feast consisted of handmade British beef burgers, gourmet sausages, chicken kebabs, meaty marinated spareribs and grilled vegetable skewers with plenty of tasty side options, including creamy coleslaw, Greek salad and mixed regular and sweet potato fries. At the clients’ request, Adam and Stacey also prepared a grazing table of cupcakes and sweets for the guests to feast on.
Once the guests were settled and happily munching away on the food, Anna and Connor joined hands and prepared to pop the balloon. A shower of blue rained down around them and everyone cheered excitedly at the realisation twin boys will be joining the family very soon!
