Our catering managers, Adam and Stacey, knocked it out of the park once again last weekend when they served an incredible birthday feast for Lauren’s 30th!
This talented pair had been hired to handle this all-important event by Lauren’s long-term boyfriend, Kyle, who wanted to give her the best day ever. Now, this might seem like a tall order, but Kyle had a very particular vision in mind for the occasion, which Hog Roast Longdown was more than happy to assist with.
Without Lauren finding out about any of his plans or even getting the slightest bit suspicious, Kyle had secretly managed to invite all of her closest friends and family to the party. He also commissioned a birthday cake from her favourite bakery and picked out gold, pastel pink and sage balloons to decorate the venue with.
The celebrations took place at a luxury hotel last Saturday night, which looked out onto tranquil waters. Hog Roast Longdown was the first to arrive at the venue, and without missing a beat, our team chucked themselves into preparations for the formal feast.
The Hog Roast Dining Experience was the menu Kyle had chosen for the event, which kicked off with a canapé selection consisting of roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, smoked Scottish salmon, an Indian selection, mini quiche and mini pizzas. These bite-sized delights were served to the guests upon their arrival, and this kept everyone going until Kyle arrived with the birthday girl!
Lauren, who had thought the couple were popping out for an intimate meal, was shocked to see her loved ones and Hog Roast Longdown waiting to surprise her, but she was even more shocked when after everyone had settled into their seats, ready to dig into their choice of hog roast, English lamb or grilled vegetable skewers with salads, potatoes and fries, Kyle stood up to make a toast, which ended with him getting down on one knee!
A teary-eyed but ecstatic Lauren nodded her answer, and everyone raised a glass to the happy couple. Then, on Kyle’s signal, Hog Roast Longdown opened up the desserts buffet, which offered a choice of fresh fruit salad and summer pudding followed by a slice of birthday cake.
