Hog Roast Sidmouth Celebrated Aquarius Season With An 18th Birthday Bash!

hog roast SidmouthSo far, February has been a very exciting month for Hog Roast Sidmouth’s catering team! Between Valentine’s Day celebrations, corporate events and beyond, our team has had plenty to keep us occupied – which, of course, is just the way we like it.

One of our most recent requests saw us travel to a function hall that looked out onto Devon’s idyllic coast. The reason we were hired was to help out with Dana’s 18th birthday celebrations, which she had spent months planning down to the finest detail.

In keeping with the coastal venue and her date of birth, Dana had chosen an Aquarius theme for her party, which spurred her to decorate the function hall with water-centric décor. From pearl-filled seashell table centrepieces and starfish, seahorses and zodiac-style props, the hall was transformed into an underwater paradise by the time the guests showed up later in the evening. As for colours, Dana had chosen a blue, white and iridescent theme, which matched the tone perfectly.

While Hog Roast Sidmouth’s caterers helped to set up the tables and adorn them with the client’s chosen decorations, the real reason we were asked to be a part of this celebration was to serve a spectacular menu – which is exactly what we did!

Hog Roast SidmouthOur catering managers, Adam and Stacey, dedicated hours to preparing a stunning buffet for Dana’s special day, which consisted of traditional hog roast rolls that brimmed with juicy pulled pork, lightly-salted crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing and applesauce. To make the feast more inclusive to non-meat eaters, our team also prepared grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with sweet chilli sauce, tzatziki dip and flatbreads, which paired beautifully with the selection of side dishes on offer. These included freshly made salads, mixed sweet potato and regular fries and our famous crunchy coleslaw.

What really made this menu stand out and kept the guests talking all night, was our charcuterie boards! Bamboo boards topped with Italian deli meats, cheeses, dressings, artisan bread and more, were placed at the centre of each table for guests to help themselves throughout the night.

Like the guests, the birthday girl was really pleased with everything Hog Roast Sidmouth served, which added to the success of the celebration!
