At Hog Roast Holsworthy, weddings are some of our favourite events to cater for – and the celebration at Apple Tree House in Borough Cross, Holsworthy, on 6th September 2025 was one to remember. With 126 guests gathered to share in the joy of the occasion, the happy couple chose a menu that celebrated tradition, flavour, and inclusivity.
The centrepiece of the feast was, of course, our whole roasted pig. Cooked slowly until the meat was tender and the crackling perfectly crisp, it was carved and served with sage and onion stuffing and our signature apple sauce. Alongside, guests enjoyed a selection of freshly baked bread rolls and wraps, with gluten free options available so everyone could enjoy their serving without compromise.
To complement the main roast, the couple opted for a selection of sides that brought colour, freshness, and balance to the meal. The spread included a vibrant tomato and mozzarella salad, a crisp mixed salad, and our house favourite creamy coleslaw. For something hearty, herb dressed new potatoes offered the perfect finishing touch, marrying comfort with elegant simplicity.
But we also know how important it is to cater for all dietary needs, and that’s where our homemade vegetarian and vegan options shone. Guests tucked into grilled 
vegetable and halloumi skewers (served without halloumi for vegans), wrapped up with a cool tzatziki dip and a sweet and punchy chilli sauce. These alternatives weren’t just substitutes – they were dishes that stood proudly on their own, brimming with flavour.
The service style was designed to keep things relaxed yet stylish. Our team served the food buffet-style onto eco-friendly wooden disposable crockery with matching cutlery, making it both practical and sustainable while still fitting seamlessly into the wedding’s rustic theme.
With laughter filling the gardens of Apple Tree House, delicious aromas in the air, and plenty of food to go around, the day was a perfect reflection of what weddings should be: good company, heartfelt celebration, and plates piled high with unforgettable food.
