Rather than a traditional bonfire display with fireworks, a local venue had decided to do a light show instead. They were advocates for local wildlife and animals so had decided against loud fireworks to avoid scaring any wildlife and animals that lived in the area.
Hog Roast Longdown had been asked to do the food for the event. Their family had been invited as guests to enjoy the show. This was a different event for Hog Roast Longdown and something they hoped they would be invited back to in the future as it was a great evening. Hog Roast Longdown had served their BBQ menu, a menu filled with flavour and choice. It had been agreed that they would do a selection of vegetarian and vegan sausages, burgers and kebabs as well as the usual meat choices as many of the guests at the event would be vegetarian and vegan. Hog Roast Longdown happily obliged ensuring a nice range of choice for them to enjoy.
There was a woodland walkway lit up by fairy lights and solar lanterns. It was a magical start. The walkway led into the venues event field. In the centre was a big bonfire and dotted around several little fires where you could roast marshmallows. Behind the event field was a walk-through light path, mainly woodland animal lights such as foxed and hedgehogs. You had to spot them as you walked around back to the event field.
The venues bar was open and then Hog Roast Longdown was the only savoury food option, so they were rather busy throughout the evening. The BBQ menu is served on nice, eco-friendly wooden plates which fitted the theme perfectly. The range of food got the guests excited as Hog Roast Longdown’s BBQ menu includes four amazing flavour-filled meats, two salads and chips. A mini feast in the field. The vegetarians and vegans were greatly appreciative of the choices they had and of course they could enjoy the salads and chips as well.
The light show began at 7pm on the dot, the projections in the sky were magical and magnificent.
