Hog Roast North Tawton handled a 40th birthday party last Friday night, which was organised by Charlotte on behalf of her husband, Terry.
In the months leading up to the big event, Terry had told Charlotte that he didn’t want a party or any special gifts. However, Charlotte saw right through his requests and decided to go ahead and plan a surprise birthday celebration for him anyway.
She started off by securing a venue for the occasion – Terry’s golf club seemed like the perfect setting for the party. After which, she sent out secret invites to all of their friends and family. 110 people confirmed their attendance, which Charlotte was thrilled about. But it also meant having 110 mouths to feed.

Right away, we were able to put Charlotte’s mind at ease and help her find the most suitable menu for her husband’s big day. The menu the client selected was our Gourmet BBQ Menu, which saw our team rustle up an irresistible buffet of juicy sausages, chicken kebabs, meaty spareribs, and handmade British beef burger patties served on gluten-free and wholemeal buns with melting cheese, fresh tomato slices and red onion.
BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with vegan coleslaw were included on the menu for plant-based guests, along with a choice of inclusive sides comprising mixed sweet potato and regular fries, homemade gourmet coleslaw and Greek salad.
As the guests filed into the venue, they were immediately greeted by the aromas of Hog Roast North Tawton’s incredible food, which ramped up their excitement for the celebrations to come. Fortunately, they didn’t have to wait too long to dig into our delicious food, as Charlotte soon entered the hall with Terry in tow.
The birthday boy was in a complete state of shock and awe at seeing all of his loved ones in one room, and, despite his initial protests, he was very happy that Charlotte had pulled the celebration together.
