With wedding season well and truly in full swing, we found ourselves at Hog Roast Ilfracombe catering a wedding somewhere in the country every week these days. Luckily our catering teams love nothing more than being able to add to a couple’s special day with some delicious slow roasted food.
This weekend was no different as we arrived at the venue for Chris and Jens wedding bright and early. The couple had chosen to hold their reception somewhere that meant a lot to them and so the reception was being held underneath a large marquee in DownEnd Field overlooking the stunning Croyde Bay. With views of the water and sandy beach stretching for miles it really was a beautiful wedding venue. Inside the marquee had also been decorated wonderfully, every table was adorned with sunflowers and there were fairy lights and balloons. Just outside was something really special- a bus bar! So, guests would be able to hop on the bus for a beverage before enjoying our Hog Roast Ilfracombe inside the marquee.
On todays menu was our Hog Roast Ilfracombe spit roasted hog for one hundred adults and forty children. For the vegetarians we created our classic grilled Vegetable and Haloumi Skewers, Served with Pitta Breads and a Tzatziki Dip- delicious! As always, no Hog Roast Ilfracombe is complete without a full range of accompaniments and for this event we had our mixed salad, coleslaw, pasta salad and some Roasted baby new potatoes! For extra measure we also brought along some butcher’s selection sausages and a hearty portion of chips for all to enjoy.
By the time the guests arrived we were just about ready to begin serving but not before we encouraged guests to visit the bus bar and get their hands on a drink or two ready for the toasts to begin. With the party in full swing we served up our spit roasted hog to tables. There really is no better feeling than seeing the smile on guests faces as they take their first bite of our slow roasted food…
